A Partnership Founded
on Accessibility

Lexercise, an online dyslexia therapy platform designed by literacy experts, founded DSF to make therapy accessible to families who couldn't otherwise afford it, and continues to support our scholarship program today.

Where it Started

Long before Lexercise became an online dyslexia therapy platform, its founders were watching kids they loved struggle to read. They built Lexercise, an online program designed by literacy experts, so children could get research-based help no matter where they lived. But therapy still cost money, and low-income families still couldn't afford it. So Lexercise founded the Dyslexia Services Foundation to make sure a family's income was never the reason a child didn't get help.

How the Partnership Works Today

When a family can't afford treatment on their own, DSF and Lexercise work together to close that gap. Families demonstrate financial need through documentation such as a Medicaid card, SNAP/EBT eligibility, or qualification for free or reduced school lunch. From there, Lexercise matches the child with a qualified reading specialist from its network, so families don't have to spend time researching programs, curricula, or providers on their own, and DSF funds the treatment directly.

To make the best use of every dollar donated, DSF's day-to-day operations, from reviewing applications to coordinating care, are handled by a shared team with Lexercise. That means more of every gift goes directly toward funding therapy, not overhead. Lexercise also donates back a percentage of every funded transaction to DSF to continue supporting the foundation's work.

The Need, in Numbers

Every year, more families come to us for help than we have funding to serve, and our waiting list is long. Although there is a robust network of literacy experts available to serve struggling students, limited funding constrains our reach, and currently, we're only able to fund intervention for an average of 10-13 students each year. Your support would help us reach them sooner. Thank you for your generosity, and for believing in this mission.
